Tyla confirms her A-Pop album after her 2026 Grammy win. Here’s what we know about the rumoured tracklist, release date and tour plans
Tyla’s A-Pop Era Begins: What We Know About the Album
South African star Tyla has officially entered her A-Pop era. Fresh off her 2026 Grammy win, the singer confirmed her second studio album, A-Pop, and teased what fans believe could be its working tracklist.
Grammy Win and Album Announcement
At the Grammy Awards, Tyla won Best African Music Performance for her hit single Push 2 Start, marking her second consecutive victory in the category. She became the first artist to achieve that milestone.
Backstage, she confirmed that her sophomore album, A-Pop, is set for release in summer 2026. She also revealed that a tour will follow the album rollout.
Shortly after, Tyla shared an image of a studio whiteboard filled with song titles. While fans have described it as a “confirmed” tracklist, it appears to be a working studio draft rather than an official release.
From “Water” to A-Pop
Tyla’s global breakthrough came in 2023 with Water, an amapiano-pop fusion that sparked a viral TikTok dance and climbed international charts.
Her debut album TYLA + introduced a wider audience to songs like Jump and ART, cementing her place as one of the leading voices of her generation.
Now at 24, Tyla has described A-Pop as more mature and reflective of her growth, signalling a new creative phase distinct from the rapid rise of her debut era.
The Rumoured Tracklist
Images from the studio revealed what appears to be a list of 20 working titles. These include:
- I DON’T BITE
- FREAK MY DESIRE
- KRYPTONITE
- I’M NOT HER
- DOUBLE BLIND
- IS IT LOVE
- FEEL SOMETHING
- SELFISH
- WHO’S THAT GIRL
- LIGHT UP THE ROOM
- DISCO
- HOT TUBS
- SOMEWAY
- RIGHT NOW
- SET THE MOOD
- TEMPTED
- KISS
- MR. NONCHALANT
- DID IT AGAIN
- CHANEL
Her October 2025 single Chanel is widely presumed to be the lead single.
Fans are also speculating that “DID IT AGAIN” could be the unnamed track she teased on Instagram following her Grammy win. Another previously previewed snippet, “Deep Down,” remains highly anticipated.
However, whiteboards in recording studios often represent evolving drafts. Songs can be renamed, rearranged, or removed entirely before final mastering. For now, the circulating list offers insight into the creative direction rather than a finalised album structure.
Themes and Direction
Titles such as “I’M NOT HER,” “SELFISH,” and “WHO’S THAT GIRL” suggest themes of identity, independence and self-definition. This aligns with Tyla’s recent comments about stepping into a more confident and grounded version of herself.
Rather than signalling a finished project, the whiteboard gives fans a rare look into her creative process.
When Is A-Pop Dropping?
Tyla confirmed that A-Pop will be released in summer 2026, placing the expected window between June and August. A supporting tour is also planned.
For now, the album exists in two forms:
- An officially announced title and release window
- An unofficial working tracklist that may still evolve
The Grammy moment marked the end of one chapter. A-Pop signals the beginning of the next.
