Bouqui revealed the news on Instagram via her verified account, @bouquiunstoppable, expressing gratitude for another year and hinting at the themes of the upcoming record.

“Happy Birthday to me!!! NEW ALBUM loading. This year is all about Restoration, a year of declaration. It’s time to tell the devil to back off everything he took… We are taking it all back!!! Happy Birthday to me. Grateful to God for another year,” the artist wrote.

The Bouqui New Album announcement quickly drew warm reactions from colleagues, industry peers and fans, many of whom flooded the comment section with birthday wishes and messages of encouragement for the next chapter of her musical journey.

A career shaped by faith and versatility

Bouqui first rose to prominence in the mid-2000s with her debut album, B.O.U.Q.U., a self-titled project that earned the rapper the Best Female Act prize at the 2007 Award for Music Excellence in Nigeria.

The project also secured nominations for Revelation of the Year and Best Rap Album at The Headies in 2007.

Her stage name is an acronym for “Born Once More Unto A Quickened And Unparalleled Image”, reflecting a deeply personal spiritual transformation that has shaped her artistry.

Over the years, Bouqui has become known for hit singles including Molejo, Vanity and Get It Started, which helped establish her as a formidable voice in gospel rap.

Now based in the United States as a citizen after relocating in February 2014, Bouqui has expanded her reach while continuing to blend music with ministry.

In addition to her work as a rapper and singer, she has built a multi-faceted career spanning media, fashion and authorship, and has embraced pastoral responsibilities.

Bridging tradition and innovation

In August 2023, Bouqui released For Fire, a remix of Chris Falson’s 1992 worship anthem All Honour, popularised by the late Ron Kenoly.

Featuring Falson himself, the track underscored her commitment to bridging classic gospel with contemporary interpretation.

With her fifth studio project now on the horizon, anticipation is building around the Bouqui New Album and its promised message of restoration.
