The former Big Brother Naija housemate made his stance clear in a post shared to his Instagram story, where he lamented what he sees as a worrying decline in modern parenting.

“Nowadays parents mess us up a lot,” Tuoyo wrote, questioning how a child could travel abroad for weeks without their parents’ knowledge.

He used Regina Daniels’ teenage marriage to politician Ned Nwoko as an example, stating: “Imagine how Regina’s mum let her go with a man at 17 or 18 — a child who doesn’t know anything.”

According to Tuoyo, parents from earlier generations were more engaged in their children’s lives, tracking their whereabouts and guiding their decisions.

He urged modern parents to return to more involved and attentive parenting styles.

His comments have sparked fresh discussion online, coming amid renewed controversy around Regina Daniels’ marriage, which has faced allegations of domestic abuse and drug use.

While some social media users agreed with Tuoyo’s sentiment, others criticised him for publicly targeting Rita Daniels, noting that Regina is now an adult and appears to stand by her marital choices.

Still, Tuoyo’s remarks tap into a broader societal concern: the role of parenting in a world where fame, pressure and wealth often influence life-altering decisions at a young age.
