On Wednesday, September 3, 2025, Tufab—an associate of Afrobeats star Wizkid—took to platform X (formerly Twitter) to share screenshots of alleged direct messages from Davido.
In the leaked chat, Davido reportedly warned Tufab against calling him “Osakpolo,” a name he claimed to despise.
“My name is not Osakpolo I’m warning u. Ok continue.
That’s all I will say. I Dey warn u. Wetin wan happen. U be bird I be aye, make we play d game,” Davido allegedly wrote.
The messages also contained alleged references to cult groups, with Davido purportedly identifying as a member of the “Aye” fraternity while accusing Tufab of being a “Bird”—a slang term with cult-related connotations.
In response, Tufab denied using the nickname and categorically distanced himself from any cult or fraternity affiliation.
“I didn’t even call you that. And please stop warning me bro… I’ve never said anything hurtful to you,” Tufab posted.
He went on to explain that he was bringing the matter to public attention as a protective measure, stating that the threats were becoming frequent and concerning.
“My life is under threat and if anything happens to me, y’all know who to hold responsible,” he wrote.
This isn’t the first time tensions involving artists in the Afrobeats scene have made headlines.
While Davido has yet to officially respond, the situation has reignited discussions around celebrity feuds, online harassment, and alleged cult symbolism in Nigerian pop culture.
