Terry G claims the devil was behind his music success, debunking death rumours and clarifying comments about his career on a viral podcast.

Terry G Devil Claim has reignited controversy after the Nigerian singer admitted that the devil was responsible for his success in the music industry — a statement he made while debunking false rumours of his death.

Gabriel Oche Amanyi, popularly known as Terry G, addressed fans in a now-deleted Instagram video, reassuring them that he is “very fine” and not dead, contrary to viral social media reports.

“My phone has been buzzing since morning. People have been calling to check on me after seeing something online about my R.I.P. saying Terry G don die. I beg whoever is trending that news to stop. I’m doing very fine, please stop that,” he said in Pidgin English.

The “Akpako Master” used the moment to also clarify remarks he made during his recent appearance on the Honest Bunch podcast, where he declared, “I sing for the devil. I’m falling short of the glory of God.”

According to Terry G, his statement was not accidental but a candid admission of what he described as the “worldly influences” that shaped his fame. “Una no know say na the devil I dey serve? Yes, na devil I dey serve. Na devil make me blow (popular),” he added.

While his words have sparked sharp reactions online, the eccentric artiste maintained that he was merely speaking his truth as a secular musician whose rise to fame, by his own account, was not divinely inspired.
