The operation, carried out in June 2025 at Shatta Wale’s home in Trassaco Valley Phase 1, Accra, stems from an international financial crime investigation.

According to EOCO, the luxury SUV was tied to Nana Kwabena Amuah, a convicted Ghanaian fraudster serving 86 months in the U.S. for romance scams and business email compromise schemes.

The Lamborghini valued as part of a $4.7 million restitution order was traced to Shatta Wale, prompting a quiet but coordinated operation by EOCO’s Surveillance and Asset Recovery Unit (SARU).

EOCO stated that the operation was lawfully executed without incident.

The dancehall star reportedly pleaded for discretion, citing the car’s importance to his image, but eventually surrendered the keys voluntarily.

The vehicle is now in EOCO custody, awaiting a Mutual Legal Assistance (MLA) request from U.S. authorities to finalize its repatriation.

In its statement, EOCO emphasized that SARU officers being armed during such operations is standard protocol.

The agency further revealed that Shatta Wale and a former senior officer of Ghana’s National Signals Bureau (NSB) have been named persons of interest and may be called for questioning.

The seizure has triggered widespread reaction online. While some fans defended the artist, others speculated on his alleged connections to broader financial scandals.

However, EOCO did not confirm links to other high-profile investigations, such as that of Adu Boahen.

Shatta Wale, known for his flamboyant lifestyle and car collectionn including a Rolls-Royce Cullinan and Cadillac Escalade has yet to issue a public statement.
