Nigerian musician Michael Adebayo Olayinka, better known as Ruger, has stirred controversy with his comments on women who undergo the Brazilian Butt Lift (BBL) procedure.

In a post shared on his X (formerly Twitter) handle, Ruger claimed that women with BBLs typically have “bad character,” stating that, based on his previous encounters, he automatically associates the cosmetic procedure with negative personality traits.

“When I see girl with BBL I Dey straight up think say dem get bad character. Be like the procedure Dey come with small attitude and ogba,” Ruger wrote, suggesting that the procedure seems to give women an “attitude.”

Ruger’s statement quickly attracted criticism from social media users, many of whom condemned the musician for making sweeping judgments based on physical appearance.

Critics pointed out that women, particularly those who opt for cosmetic procedures, often face undue scrutiny and are unfairly judged for their choices.

The debate has raised important questions about societal standards, body image, and the ways in which public figures can influence perceptions of beauty and character. Ruger has yet to publicly address the backlash.
