The community intervention, executed as the club’s flagship project for the 2025–2026 service year, involved a comprehensive upgrade of the hospital wards aimed at improving patient comfort, safety and service delivery.

As part of the Rotary Club Ikoyi Metro hospital project, obsolete windows in wards F1 and F2 were replaced with durable aluminium frames, while the exterior of the facility received fresh coats of paint to enhance both aesthetics and structural protection.

Beyond structural improvements, the project delivered critical medical and support equipment to the hospital, including wheelchairs and crutches, strengthening care for patients with mobility challenges.

To further support efficient hospital operations, the initiative also provided water tanks, a tank stand and a water treatment facility, ensuring steady access to clean and safe water for patients, caregivers and medical personnel.

Speaking on the intervention, the United President of the Rotary Club Ikoyi Metro, Rtn Alex Chukwu, said the project reflects the club’s strong commitment to strengthening public healthcare infrastructure and improving the working conditions of health professionals.

According to him, the investment is designed to deliver long term impact by supporting a key public health institution that serves a wide segment of Lagos residents.
