RMD supports Kamo State as the veteran actor promotes Star Lomo, adding a major show of confidence to the skit maker’s debut cinema project

Content creator Kamo State has received a major boost after veteran Nollywood actor Richard Mofe-Damijo, popularly known as RMD, promoted Kamo State’s debut cinema film, Star Lomo, in a promotional skit shared on Instagram on Wednesday, September 9, 2026.

The support comes as Star Lomo continues to attract mixed reactions online, with some viewers questioning whether Kamo State’s first major film should be released in cinemas rather than on a streaming platform.

Kamo State, whose real name is Akinyoola Ayoola, appeared pleased by RMD’s decision to participate in the promotional campaign after previously being told that the veteran actor would not promote the project.

“I was told he won’t promote my film,” Kamo State wrote while sharing the video, before thanking the veteran actor. “Thank you sir @mofedamijo.”

RMD’s appearance gives the young filmmaker another notable endorsement as he prepares to take Star Lomo to cinemas across Nigeria.

The film is scheduled for release on September 25, 2026, with Kamo State serving as both lead actor and producer.

Director Kayode Kasum is behind the camera, while the cast includes established names such as Mike Afolarin, KieKie, Lateef Adedimeji and Folake Babatunde.

Former Big Brother Naija housemate Koyin Sanusi is also part of the cast, marking her movie debut.

The project has faced criticism since its trailer was released, particularly from social media users who questioned the decision to give the film a cinema release.

Despite the scepticism, Kamo State has maintained his confidence in the project and urged audiences to see the film before reaching conclusions about its quality.

The RMD endorsement adds to a growing list of support from established figures in the Nigerian entertainment industry.

Earlier, actress and filmmaker Funke Akindele publicly congratulated Kamo State and Kayode Kasum, describing the project as a positive development.
