Poco Lee’s UK case continues as his management praises Zlatan’s support and urges restraint over unverified narratives surrounding the proceedings
Faleye “Dee-Y” Adedoyin, manager of Nigerian dancer and entertainer Iweh Odinaka, popularly known as Poco Lee, has thanked singer Zlatan Ibile and others for supporting the entertainer as his ongoing UK legal case continues, while urging the public to exercise restraint over unverified claims.
Adedoyin issued the statement on Wednesday on behalf of Poco Lee’s management, acknowledging what the team described as significant assistance from Zlatan and others during the proceedings.
“We would like to publicly acknowledge that Zlatan, along with others, has been extremely supportive and helpful through this matter,” the statement said.
“Their involvement, support, and effort have been vital to moving things forward.”
The management also asked members of the public to avoid adding to what it described as negative narratives surrounding the case.
“We deeply value their ongoing support and dedication and we kindly request that everyone refrain from spreading negative narratives,” the statement added.
The intervention follows public discussion about Poco Lee’s trip to the United Kingdom and claims concerning the circumstances surrounding his visit.
Social commentator Martins Otse, popularly known as VeryDarkMan, questioned reports that Poco Lee had travelled to the UK in connection with a Davido performance.
Otse subsequently claimed on Instagram that Poco Lee had travelled to the UK for a Zlatan show rather than a Davido concert. The claim has not been established as a finding of the court.
“In between Poco Lee didn’t travel to the UK for a Davido show, it was for a Zlatan show,” Otse said.
Otse also argued that Poco Lee should be allowed to face the court process and expressed hope that the proceedings would eventually come to an end.
The dispute over the circumstances of the trip has unfolded alongside an ongoing criminal case in the UK.
Poco Lee was granted bail on 11 September ahead of a scheduled appearance at Snaresbrook Crown Court on 15 September.
According to the account provided to PUNCH Online, the hearing was subsequently adjourned to 8 February 2027 after the charge sheet was reportedly unavailable and Poco Lee did not appear.
A trial date of 8 March 2027 was subsequently reported.
Poco Lee faces five sexual-offence charges, including attempted rape, two counts of rape and two counts of assault by penetration. He has denied the allegations and has not been convicted of any offence.
The distinction is important because the charges remain allegations unless and until they are established through the UK legal process.
Poco Lee’s management has previously appealed for restraint, particularly over social-media commentary that could blur the distinction between allegations and proven facts.
The latest statement also puts renewed attention on the role of Zlatan, with the management specifically crediting the singer and others for their support during what it described as a difficult period.
For now, the Poco Lee UK case remains before the courts, with the next reported proceedings scheduled for February 2027 and the trial subsequently listed for March.
The legal process, rather than speculation surrounding the case, will determine the outcome of the allegations against the entertainer.
