TikTok Star Peller Hospitalised After Deliberate Car Crash

Lagos TikTok star Peller hospitalised after intentionally crashing his car during a livestream, sparking concerns over influencer mental health

Lagos-based TikTok star and livestreamer Hamzat Habeeb, popularly known as Peller, has been hospitalised after intentionally crashing his Mercedes-Benz during a live broadcast on the Lekki-Epe Expressway.

The incident occurred on Sunday during a viral livestream titled “RIP Peller,” according to reports from PUNCH Metro.

Footage from the stream showed Peller, who was alone in the car, expressing emotional distress while speaking on the phone with his girlfriend amid rumours of a breakup.

At one point, he reportedly said, “I will use this car and have an accident right now,” followed by, “I’m scared. I’m scared.”

In another moment during the livestream, Peller stated, “If you leave me, people will mock me… Thank you, I’m going to kill myself.”

The livestream captured him driving off before crashing into a stone barrier, causing significant damage to his newly purchased vehicle.

Bystanders rushed to assist Peller at the scene before he was taken to hospital. The extent of his injuries has not yet been confirmed.

Images circulating online showed extensive damage to the Mercedes-Benz, while fans and social media users have expressed concern over his wellbeing and the broader issue of mental health among online influencers.

When contacted, Lagos State Police spokesperson Abimbola Adebisi said details would be provided after the Divisional Police Officer completed the report, but no update had been issued at the time of filing.

This is not the first alarming incident involving the 20-year-old influencer.

In August, Peller was reportedly whisked away by armed men while livestreaming, initially mistaking them for security operatives.
