Obama 2025 playlist features Olamide, Burna Boy, Obongjayar, Kendrick Lamar and more, showcasing global hits and Afrobeats’ rising international influence

Former United States President Barack Obama has released his highly anticipated 2025 playlist, sharing the compilation on his official social media channels.

The annual list, highlighting songs that shaped his year, includes a diverse mix of global pop, hip-hop, alternative music, and a strong representation of Afrobeats artists, reflecting the genre’s expanding global influence.

Among the African acts featured is Olamide with his hit single 99, a collaboration with Young Jonn, Asake, Seyi Vibez, and Daecolm, which has achieved widespread airplay and streaming success across Nigeria and beyond.

Burna Boy also made the list with his crossover track TaTaTa, featuring American rapper Travis Scott. Nigerian-born British singer Obongjayar was recognised with Not In Surrender.

The 2025 playlist also showcases international stars including Kendrick Lamar, Olivia Dean, Lady Gaga, Drake, BLACKPINK, Rosalía, and several others spanning multiple genres.
