At the handover ceremony on Thursday, the set unveiled renovated hostel facilities, an ultramodern dental chair, a functional borehole, refurbished student common room, repaired leaking roofs, and replacement of 11 doors across the Clinical Students’ Hostel.

President of the set, Dr. Hassan Adelakun, said the intervention was a token of gratitude to their alma mater and an effort to improve the academic environment for today’s medical students.

“We are here because the university was here for us. This project, which cost N20m, is meant to improve students’ welfare, enhance practical training and clinical readiness, and create safer, healthier study spaces,” Adelakun said.

He explained that earlier donations by the group included a 60KVA soundproof Perkins generator for the College Auditorium/Demonstration Room to ensure reliable power supply for learning activities.

The new projects also covered tubular batteries for reading rooms, 25 chairs for the Part 6 reading room, and painting of the hostel complex.

Adelakun urged students to cultivate a maintenance culture, noting that “small acts of upkeep yield lasting benefits for everyone.”
