Nkechi Blessing reveals she rejected a script requiring her to sleep with a dog, prioritising her career and personal image.

Actress Nkechi Blessing Sunday has disclosed that she was once offered a highly controversial script requiring her to sleep with a dog early in her Nollywood career.

The revelation was made on The Honest Bunch podcast, where the actress explained her decision to reject the role in order to safeguard her reputation and long-term career prospects.

“Despite being a newcomer, I was given a script to sleep with a dog. I rejected it because I can’t start my career like that. Imagine my first ever movie, I am sleeping with a dog. It doesn’t make sense,” Nkechi said.

She stressed that accepting such a role would have led to typecasting and negatively shaped public perception of her work.

The actress noted that after she declined the script, other aspiring actresses took the opportunity, though she questioned how many of them remain prominent in the industry today.
