Olasunmade, who began his MC journey in 2010 hosting children’s birthday parties at his church and in his neighbourhood, launched his professional career in 2016 after winning second runner-up in the comedy category at the NYSC Orientation Camp in Kabba.

He has since hosted a wide range of events, including university social nights, the 2013 MTN Campus Rave at Olabisi Onabanjo University, and church praise nights.

Relocating to the UK in 2023 following his marriage, MC Izhybee has built a reputation in Manchester and surrounding cities, hosting social events, weddings, and corporate functions.

His most recent appearance featured DJ Enimoney from Nigeria’s YBNL music label.

Speaking to our correspondent, Olasunmade said his ability to communicate in English, Igbo, Yoruba, Ondo, Egba, and Ijebu has helped him connect with diverse audiences, and he is currently learning Hindi and some Pakistani languages.

“One of the beautiful things about being an MC out here is that you are treated like the professional you are. No one talks down on your craft, unlike back home,” he said.

MC Izhybee explained that the upcoming Bangor End-of-Year Party aims to provide entertainment and social engagement for the large Nigerian community in the area, which he described as having “low social life.”
