Maureen Okpoko, a Nollywood actress, has revealed that she has been living with blindness for four years, appealing to colleagues, bloggers, friends and members of the public for financial support to continue her medical treatment.

In a recent video shared online, Okpoko opened up about her health challenge and asked for assistance to access further medical intervention while also requesting prayers and encouragement from well-wishers.

“I have been visually challenged for four years. Please, I am seeking your financial assistance for further medical intervention. Tunde Ednut, VDM, bloggers, colleagues and friends, please come to my aid,” Okpoko said.

“Your prayers, contributions and words of encouragement will be highly appreciated,” she added.

The actress’ appeal has drawn attention from members of the Nigerian entertainment community, with veteran actor and musician Harry B. Anyanwu recently calling on Nollywood practitioners and the public to support her recovery efforts.

In a video circulating online, Anyanwu said he visited Okpoko in Enugu and described her as a valued colleague who needs assistance to access the medical care required to improve her condition.

He urged actors, actresses and other industry stakeholders to unite in supporting the actress during what he described as a difficult period.
