In a heartfelt Instagram video, the celebrated performer revealed that she had once experienced inappropriate behaviour from a trusted family friend during her childhood.

She said, “It happened right in front of people who trusted the person. At that age, I didn’t understand what was going on. But I knew something about it was wrong.”

Kaffy noted that people who harm children often don’t appear threatening and may even be perceived as kind or helpful.

“Many of them appear caring. They may be the ones who always want to help or be around the child. That’s why parents need to pay attention and set clear boundaries,” she warned.

The award-winning choreographer cautioned parents against being overly trusting of familiar figures such as “favourite uncles” or “favourite aunties,” emphasising that children must be taught that it’s acceptable to say ‘no’ to unwanted touch or interaction, regardless of who the adult is.

She added, “Parents need to be cautious of the favourite uncles, the favourite aunties, the favourite nannies, the favourite drivers. There needs to be boundaries. Many children face uncomfortable situations from people who are close to them.”

Kaffy also advised against adults making comments about children’s bodies or giving physical affection without their consent. She highlighted that every child deserves personal autonomy and respect for their space.
