Speaking during a recent episode of the G2G Podcast, Ice Prince opened up about the emotional weight he carries over the death of South African rapper AKA, who was tragically shot in Durban in 2023.

“I wish we got to speak about it because we never. And it hurt me so bad because that’s my friend,” he shared.

The two artists, once close collaborators and friends, had fallen out over an undisclosed issue. Ice Prince now says the unresolved conflict deeply pains him—and that he often sees AKA during his prayers.

“Sometimes, when I’m praying, I see him there. So, I know we are at peace,” he said. “I know he looks out for me as one of my homeboys in heaven.”
