Adeola Shoremi disowned over acting—the Nollywood veteran, widely known as Lanko, has revealed the emotional toll of pursuing his passion despite family opposition.

In a heartfelt revelation, the actor shared that his father disowned him for eight years after choosing acting as a career path.

“My father disowned me as a son for good eight years,” Lanko recalled. “He was against me becoming an actor.”

The tension persisted until fate intervened during a health crisis. His father, seriously ill and neglected at a hospital, was finally attended to—only after Lanko’s popularity drew attention when he arrived at the emergency hall.

“Thank God for my popularity… When I got to the hospital, people started hailing me. The doctor recognized me and helped immediately,” he said.

That moment marked a turning point. The once-strained relationship softened when Lanko’s father, overwhelmed by regret and emotion, broke down in tears.

“I met him crying. He said he never thought a day like that would come,” Lanko shared.
