This year’s board represents diverse expertise from across Africa, committed to professional development, ethical leadership and building African-led communication strategies.

It aims to empower communicators to shape narratives with global impact and local authenticity.

In a statement released by IABC, the organisation said the new board would focus on deepening the impact of communication in business, governance, and development sectors.

This comes at a time when Africa’s communicators are playing an increasingly vital role in global conversations.

Dr Opeyemi Adeyemi (FNIPR, SCMP®) leads the board alongside a stellar team including Camilla Osborne (SCMP), Christine Breet (SCMP®), Theresa Lee (SCMP®), and Riana Sinden (SCMP®).

Other board members include Elsabe Coetzee, Carol Warui, Chisimchere Chukwu, Athieno Stella Marion and Abigail Bailie.

Also serving are Dr Amanda Hamilton-Attwell (ABC, CPRP, IABC Fellow), Natalie Patch, Tashila Hans, Adedoyin Jaiyesimi, Njideka Agbo (ANIPR), and Nengi Amadi.

“The strength of the IABC Africa Regional Board lies in its diversity,” said Dr Adeyemi. “We are not only united by profession, but by a shared vision for an Africa that leads with powerful, purposeful communication.”

This year’s agenda will prioritise professional development, certification growth, and support for communication campaigns that reflect the continent’s voice.
