Afro-gospel singer Gaise Baba mourns the passing of his father, Prince Ezekiel Ibuoye, seven months after losing his mother

The father of renowned Nigerian Afro-gospel singer Akinade Ibuoye, popularly known as Gaise Baba, has passed away, the artist announced on Wednesday via his social media page.

Prince (Hon.) Ezekiel Gbadebo Ibuoye, Ààrẹ Apọ́nlẹ́sẹ̀ of Okemesi Ekiti in Ekiti State, died on Saturday, November 22, at 7:31 p.m., marking exactly seven months and seven days after the death of his wife, Gaise Baba’s mother.

In a heartfelt statement, Gaise Baba reflected on the emotional toll of losing both parents within such a short period but emphasised his family’s faith and gratitude.

“On Saturday night, the 22nd of November, at 7:31pm, my Father – PRINCE (BARR.) EZEKIEL GBADEBO IBUOYE, Ààrẹ Apọ́nlẹ́sẹ̀ of Okemesi Ekiti, went home to be with the Lord, exactly SEVEN(7) months and SEVEN(7) days after his wife, our mother, passed on,” the statement read.

“No guilt in life, no fear in death. Even with the pain of physical departure, we YIELD to God, and in all things, we give Him THANKS!”

The announcement was signed by Akinade Gboluwaga Ibuoye, “Son,” on behalf of the Ibuoye family.

Earlier this year, Gaise Baba gained renewed attention with a reimagined version of his hit gospel track “No Turning Back,” featuring Minister Lawrence Oyor.
