Spider-Man Star’s Ex Opens Up About Marrying Ogunlesi

Jennifer Meyer reveals why ex-husband Tobey Maguire officiated her wedding to Geoffrey Ogunlesi, calling the unusual arrangement deeply special

American jewellery designer Jennifer Meyer has opened up about her recent wedding to Geoffrey Ogunlesi, son of Nigerian billionaire businessman Adebayo Ogunlesi.

Meyer, 49, married Ogunlesi in Hawaii on October 10, just weeks after she and her former husband, Hollywood actor Tobey Maguire, were legally declared single following years of separation.

Speaking to Vogue in an interview reported by PEOPLE, Meyer described the ceremony as an overwhelmingly joyful experience.

“I genuinely felt like I was floating on cloud nine,” she said.

“I had zero jitters, just pure happiness. Having our three children and our parents walk down the aisle made it even more special.”

Meyer said Maguire’s involvement in the ceremony made the occasion particularly meaningful.

The Spider-Man star, whom Meyer married in 2007, officiated her wedding to Ogunlesi despite being her former husband.

“And having Tobey, my ex-husband, officiate was so special. A little unconventional, but so perfectly us,” she said.

Meyer and Maguire separated in 2016 after nine years of marriage and share two children, Ruby and Otis.

Although Meyer filed for divorce in October 2020, their marriage was not legally dissolved until September 21, 2026, with the judgment filed on October 1.

Meyer welcomed her third child, her first with Ogunlesi, in June.

The jewellery designer has previously spoken about maintaining a close relationship with Maguire after their separation, saying their children remained their priority.

She said the former couple continued to celebrate holidays, birthdays and other family occasions together.

Meyer also praised the friendship that has developed between Maguire and Ogunlesi, saying their positive relationship has helped make their blended family dynamic work.

“He is an incredible father. He is an incredible ex-husband. And Geoff loves him and he loves Geoff. And so everything just works,” she said.

Ogunlesi is the son of Nigerian-born billionaire investment banker Adebayo Ogunlesi.
