Speaking in an interview with Spotify’s Radar, the young artist reflected on his journey from obscurity to fame, revealing that life on campus used to be simple before music success changed everything.

“Music matters so much to me because it’s such an amazing thing — you can speak to and touch someone without even meeting them in person,” Fola said. “In 2022, I put all my money on a music project but I didn’t blow. Before, if I went to the campus, people didn’t even recognise my presence. But just one year down the line, I can’t even enter school anymore because of fame.”

The singer described the experience as both humbling and overwhelming, noting that while fame has opened doors for him, it has also taken away the anonymity he once cherished.

Fola, who has gained attention for his emotive sound and relatable lyrics, said the transition from being unnoticed to being constantly recognised has been life-changing.

The artist’s reflections follow his recent rise on streaming platforms, where his tracks have resonated strongly with younger audiences drawn to his honest storytelling and soulful delivery.
