Nigerian singer Davido shares his feelings after losing at the 2026 Grammys, praising wife Chioma for her support and encouragement during the setback

Nigerian Grammy-nominated singer David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has reflected on his loss at the 2026 Grammy Awards, admitting it affected him deeply.

He revealed that the disappointment made him reluctant to attend the ceremony’s after-party.

Davido credited his wife, Chioma, with restoring his confidence through her encouragement and support.

In an Instagram post, he wrote, “I said baby listen we lost again let’s not go she said ‘Be humble in victory and gracious in defeat’ we outside. My ride or die. She dey my back, active geng.”

Chioma responded separately, reaffirming her love and confidence in her husband, stating, “You already know that you’re the perfect one.”

The singer lost the Best African Music Performance category to South African artist Tyla at the 2026 Grammys on Sunday.
