Burna Boy Billboard Hot 100 record makes him the African artist with the most entries, breaking barriers and setting new milestones in global music

Burna Boy Billboard Hot 100 record has made history once again, cementing the Grammy-winning Nigerian singer’s status as Africa’s biggest global music export.

This week, his collaboration with American rapper Gunna, WGFT from The Last Wun album, debuted at number 96 on the prestigious Billboard Hot 100 chart.

The entry brings Burna Boy’s total appearances on the chart to seven, the highest for any African artist.

What makes the achievement even more remarkable is Burna Boy’s consistency. He is now the first African act to debut a song on the Billboard Hot 100 for five consecutive years 2021, 2022, 2023, 2024, and 2025.

The singer first appeared on the chart in 2021 with Loved By You, a collaboration with Canadian pop icon Justin Bieber. His first solo entry came in 2022 with the smash hit Last Last, which peaked at number 44.

Beyond the Billboard Hot 100, Burna Boy also holds the record for the most entries by an African artist on the UK Singles Chart (26) and the Canadian Hot 100 (11), proving his unmatched influence in shaping global pop culture.
