Brian Nwana wins TikTok Africa’s Storyteller of the Year, celebrating Nigerian food culture and hidden culinary gems in Abuja

Guinness World Record holder and content creator Brian Nwana has been named TikTok Africa’s Storyteller of the Year, recognising his energetic reviews and dedication to promoting Nigeria’s food culture.

Brian, known for showcasing hidden culinary gems across Abuja, expressed delight at receiving the award.

“Every single creator is a storyteller. We all tell stories that help drive our local communities, our cities, and our countries. When we do that, we change how the world sees us,” he said.

Reflecting on his journey, Brian emphasised that his content was never motivated by awards.

“When I started creating content, I just wanted to show people what Abuja had to offer the amazing food, creativity, and the places people often overlook. Breaking the Guinness World Record by visiting 150 restaurants in one day helped shine a big light on that. Now this TikTok award is doing the same. I’m honestly just grateful,” he added.

Brian first gained national and international attention after setting the Guinness World Record for the Most Fast-Food Restaurant Visits in 24 Hours, a physically demanding challenge that highlighted his commitment to local businesses and Nigerian cuisine.

He acknowledged the support of family, friends, and his manager, Rhoda Kusimo Iloba, as crucial in shaping his journey.

Brian has become one of Abuja’s most influential creative voices, praised for his humour, authenticity, and deep love for the city.
