A video of the incident, shared on X by user #Usmanashafe, quickly went viral and sparked widespread reactions online, reigniting concerns over extortion targeting film crews operating in public spaces.

In the footage, the actress is seen standing her ground as the men demand what is commonly referred to as a “settlement” before allowing production to continue.

Ademoye, speaking in English and Pidgin, made it clear that while she is willing to appreciate people around her set, she would not accept coercion or forced payments.

She described herself as familiar with street culture but insisted that no one should issue ultimatums to her production team under pressure.

Tension rose briefly when one of the men threatened to shut down filming equipment, prompting a sharp response from the actress as she defended her crew and production tools.

The men, estimated to be between three and five in number, did not physically escalate the confrontation on camera, though their presence visibly disrupted the ongoing shoot.

No weapons were seen in the video, but the exchange highlighted the persistent challenge faced by filmmakers during outdoor productions in parts of Lagos.

The incident has drawn praise for Ademoye’s composure, with many social media users commending her for refusing to be intimidated during the confrontation.

Observers note that such disruptions have contributed to a growing shift within Nollywood toward indoor or controlled-location filming to avoid similar risks.

The practice of extortion on film sets remains a recurring issue in the industry, often forcing producers to either comply with demands or risk damage to equipment and production delays.
