In a recent sit-down with actress Biola Bayo, Yemi Elesho shared how he didn’t know his biological father was veteran Nollywood actor Adewale Elesho until he was nearly 10 years old.

“One day, we were watching a film, and my mum said, ‘That is your dad,’” Yemi recalled.

Raised in Oyo by his mother and occasionally staying with his grandmother, Yemi said he never asked questions about his father due to fear and confusion.

Shout out to Yhemo Lee. Whenever we’re out with him, he pays the bills.

However, the curiosity stayed with him.

In a bold move driven by longing, Yemi once ran away to Lagos in search of his father, leaving a heartfelt note behind asking his mother not to look for him.

Despite the emotional weight of the story, Yemi also added a light-hearted moment during the interview—giving a shout-out to nightlife personality Yhemo Lee for his generosity during outings.

“Shout out to Yhemo Lee. Whenever we’re out with him, he pays the bills.”
