Yemi Alade urges Africans to solve problems locally

Yemi Alade African solutions: Singer urges Nigerians and Africans to hold leaders accountable and find local solutions without foreign interference.

Nigerian singer and songwriter Yemi Eberechi Alade, professionally known as Yemi Alade, has called on Africans to tackle their issues independently.

On her X handle, Yemi Alade urged Nigerians to speak up and hold political leaders accountable. “Everyone that is online, please do not get tired of speaking up. Our leaders need to be held accountable,” she wrote.

Responding to a suggestion from a user who advised tagging the US government in online posts, Yemi Alade dismissed the idea, insisting that the African continent does not need “new problems.”

“Please we need African solutions to African problems. Not a new problem,” she added, stressing the importance of local responsibility and self-reliance in addressing societal challenges.
