Mosaku won the Best Supporting Actress award for her role in “Sinners”, marking her second BAFTA in the category following her 2017 victory for “Damilola, Our Loved Boy”.

“My Father’s Shadow”, directed by Nigerian siblings Akinola Davies Jr. and Wale Davies, took home the Outstanding Debut by a British Writer, Director or Producer award.

The film depicts a father and his two sons navigating Lagos during the 1993 election crisis, highlighting political tensions through a deeply personal lens.

Since its premiere in the Un Certain Regard section at the Cannes Film Festival, the drama has received critical acclaim for its authentic storytelling and international resonance.

The ceremony, hosted by Alan Cumming, celebrated the finest films of 2025.

While “One Battle After Another” dominated with six awards including Best Film and Best Director, Nigerian talent stood out as Mosaku and the Davies brothers brought recognition to the country’s growing cinematic influence.
