The protest followed the recent kidnap and brutal killing of Mr. Martins Onyekere, the young CEO of Fish Magnet, a company dealing in fresh and dried fish.

His death sparked widespread outrage, especially among the youth.

Thousands dressed in black rallied behind VeryDarkMan at Aroma Junction and proceeded to Ring Road Junction where the late businessman had his office.

The protest was aimed at pressuring authorities to tackle insecurity head-on.

Before the event, the Anambra State Police Command warned the activist not to incite public unrest.

The Commissioner of Police, CP Ikioye Orutugu, urged caution, advising the public to allow the family of the deceased to mourn in peace.

Despite the warnings, the protest remained peaceful and eventually gained official recognition. Surprisingly, SP Tochukwu Ikenga, spokesperson for the State Police, joined the walk along with Mr. Ejimofor Opara, Special Adviser to Governor Chukwuma Soludo on Media.
