Tacha Slams Youths Over Lack Of National Involvement

Reality star Tacha blasts Nigerian youths for prioritizing comfort and emigration over national progress. She compares them to past generations who fought for change

Reality TV star Anita Natacha Akide, popularly known as Tacha, has stirred debate on social media after calling out Nigerian youths for their perceived lack of courage and involvement in national development.

In a tweet shared via X (formerly Twitter), Tacha expressed disappointment with the current generation, labeling them as “cowardly and comfort-driven,” unlike previous generations who fought and sacrificed for change in the country.

“My generation of Nigerians are the dumbest and most cowardly,” she wrote.

“Funny how we blame the ones before us for ruining Nigeria… What are today’s 20-year-olds up to? Japa.”

Tacha drew a sharp contrast with figures like former President Muhammadu Buhari, who, in his 20s, participated in a military coup driven by ideological conviction.

She criticized modern-day Nigerian youth for prioritizing emigration (“japa”), social media fame, and personal comfort over nation-building.

While clarifying that her remarks weren’t aimed at any individual, Tacha emphasized the tweet was a wake-up call to an entire generation.

“This tweet isn’t about me or anyone in particular. It’s about a whole generation that is too afraid to prioritize the nation’s interest over their own comfort. I used my voice. I speak. I show up. I refuse to be quiet,” she added.
