Davido’s Baby Mama Sophia Momodu Defends Daughter Amid Online Claims

Sophia Momodu defends daughter Imade Adeleke, denying online claims and confirming her happy, healthy upbringing

Sophia Momodu, mother of Afrobeats superstar Davido’s first child, has addressed online posts targeting her 10-year-old daughter, Imade Adeleke, dismissing the claims as deliberate falsehoods about the child’s well-being.

In a detailed Snapchat post, Momodu explained that she has never denied her daughter access to her father, emphasising that she prioritises safety and structured schedules.

She described Imade as a happy, healthy, and well-rounded child, with anyone meeting her able to confirm this.

Momodu stated that she has been Imade’s primary caregiver for the past five years, personally covering nearly all expenses, except for school fees paid by Davido’s father, Dr. Adedeji Adeleke, over the last three years.

She also revealed that she has never received formal child support from Davido.

“I recently waived all outstanding child support payments and relinquished any future claims, taking full financial responsibility for my daughter,” Momodu said.

“Social media has unfortunately become a platform for spreading false narratives. I felt compelled to stand up for my child.”

She highlighted her commitment to fostering a healthy relationship between Imade and both parents, stating that the child continues to enjoy a loving bond with her father while maintaining a safe, structured upbringing.

Momodu concluded by urging the public to exclude Imade from false stories and focus on more positive pursuits. Davido has not publicly responded to the post.
