Shank Comics Diddy clarification highlights streamer’s stance, condemning crimes and affirming support for victims after social media backlash

Nigerian content creator and streamer Adesokan Adedeji Emmanuel, popularly known as Shank Comics, on Monday addressed backlash over a previous post regarding American music mogul Diddy.

In a clarification shared on his X handle, Shank Comics described his earlier remarks as irresponsible and emphasised that he does not admire or support Diddy in any form.

Shank Comics explained that his post was “a misguided attempt at referencing a villain in a movie” and stressed the seriousness of the crimes Diddy has been convicted of, noting that they are unacceptable both in society and within the entertainment industry.

“To clarify any misunderstanding. My post about Diddy was a misguided attempt at referencing a villain in a movie and it was irresponsible. To be absolutely clear, I do not admire, support, or defend him in any way.

The allegations against him are horrific, and he deserves every consequence that comes from them. What he’s been accused of (and convicted of) is unacceptable and has no place in our industry or anywhere else.

Victims deserve justice. I’m committed to doing better and using my platform responsibly,” he wrote.

The content creator further highlighted his support for the victims, stressing that justice must be served.

His statement comes amid growing discussions on social media regarding the conduct of influential figures and the responsibilities of content creators when commenting on sensitive matters.
