Boluwatife Balogun, Nigerian singer and first son of Afrobeats superstar Wizkid, has opened up about his budding music career, insisting he feels no pressure from his father’s global success.

The 14-year-old, also known by his stage name Chmapz, spoke to Glitch Africa about his ambition to make a name for himself in the music industry.

Balogun revealed that his passion for music has been a constant presence in his life. “My dad does music, I have friends that make music and a cousin that plays piano. I have been making beats and writing songs since I was young.

There’s no pressure. I’m young. I mean, I’m 14. I still have a long way to go. I’ve done a lot for my age already. No pressure,” he said.

The young artist highlighted that music is not just a hobby, but a defining part of his life.

His openness about his journey reflects a maturity beyond his years, as he navigates carving out his own identity in a family already prominent in the entertainment industry.

Balogun’s mother, Oluwanishola, recently addressed public criticism regarding her son’s career, emphasizing support for his creative path.

Boluwatife has also released a debut EP, demonstrating his commitment to developing his craft and connecting with a growing audience.
