Shallipopi said the Shallipopi Industry Maltreatment Claim stems from what he described as a lack of support and respect from some established artistes when he was attempting to break into the mainstream music scene.

In a post shared on his X account, the “Elon Musk” hitmaker expressed frustration over the period, stating that the alleged treatment contributed to his hardened outlook.

“2023/2024 many artist pour me spit for face… I mean manyyyyyy, that’s why I’m extra mean,” Shallipopi wrote in the post.

The comments have sparked conversation among fans, with many reflecting on the challenges faced by emerging artists in Nigeria’s competitive music industry.

Shallipopi did not name specific individuals but suggested the experience left a lasting impact on his personality and approach to the industry.

Shallipopi rose to prominence after his breakout track “Elon Musk” went viral on social media, propelling him into mainstream recognition.

The song’s popularity later led to a remix featuring Zlatan and Fireboy DML, further solidifying his place in the Afrobeats scene.

In October 2023, Shallipopi publicly acknowledged Zlatan’s role in his early career, describing the rapper’s support as pivotal to his development and success in the industry.
