Queen Mercy Atang recounts how her sitting room POP ceiling collapsed, praising divine intervention for keeping her family safe from harm

Former Big Brother Naija star, Queen Mercy Atang, has recounted a terrifying incident at her home when the POP ceiling in her sitting room unexpectedly collapsed early Wednesday morning.

In a social media post, Atang credited divine intervention for her family’s safety, stating, “God said, not this family.”

She explained that she had returned home around 4 a.m. after picking up a friend from the airport and found her sister and nanny still awake, sewing.

Atang said she had instructed her workers to sleep in the sitting room, but they had just left the area when the ceiling gave way, narrowly avoiding injury.

“This marks the second ceiling-related incident at my residence, following a garage ceiling collapse a few weeks ago,” she added.

She shared further details, saying, “By 6 a.m., my worker left, but my younger sister and my nanny were still sewing. Normally, she sews till morning and then sleeps off in the sitting room. I thank God they didn’t sleep there today. They literally had to run for their lives.”

Atang is also coordinating her friend’s Guinness World Record project, which is set to kick off soon.

She reflected on the challenges of managing the project while ensuring her family’s safety, expressing gratitude for divine protection.

“Dear Lord, I am grateful. Thank You for Your love and Your protection. I’m truly grateful,” she wrote.
