The reaction followed the 9th edition of the All Africa Music Awards, where Tanzanian singer Juma Jux was named Best Male Artist in Eastern Africa, a victory that drew widespread congratulations across social media.

Priscilla Ojo-Mkambala publicly celebrated the achievement on her Snapchat page, proudly displaying the award and expressing support for her husband’s success on the continental stage.

However, the celebratory moment took a sour turn when a social media user alleged that the AFRIMA honour was purchased rather than earned.

The fan wrote, “Award wey una buy,” casting doubt on the credibility of the recognition.

The comment prompted an immediate response from Priscilla Ojo-Mkambala, who rejected the allegation and accused the commenter of unnecessary hostility towards her family.

“Bella, it is a new year, stop hating girl,” she replied, in a brief but pointed clapback that resonated with her followers.

The exchange highlights the intense scrutiny faced by public figures and their families, particularly when high-profile achievements attract both praise and scepticism online.
