In one widely publicised case, actress Peggy Ovire and actor Taye Arimoro were involved in a confrontation that drew public attention after Arimoro shared videos of injuries sustained during the dispute.

He alleged that Ovire and her team attacked him after he attempted to leave the set at the end of his contracted hours.

Ovire, however, claimed the altercation followed an assault by Arimoro on two crew members and the production manager, escalating tensions.

Another incident involved Nollywood production manager Anierobi Courage, popularly known as Nwa South, who was arrested for allegedly assaulting head makeup artist Mary Eze during the filming of Lagos to Opulence.

Video footage showed Courage physically confronting Eze, prompting the Nigerian Film Crew Community to condemn his actions as “animalistic” and call for his blacklisting.

Veteran actor Femi Branch also made headlines after reportedly assaulting a first assistant director during a June 2025 production.

The disagreement arose over creative instructions, though Branch later issued an apology.

The Film Crew Community commended the team for upholding respect and professionalism.

Popular actor Zubby Michael was accused by colleague Godwin Nnadikwe of causing internal injuries with an unscripted kick during filming.

Nnadikwe highlighted the lack of on-set medical support, warning that such incidents pose serious risks without proper safety measures.
