The rapper spoke alongside US Ambassador to the UN, Michael Waltz, and Alex Bruesewitz, a senior adviser to former President Donald Trump.

According to Time correspondent Eric Cortellessa, Minaj used the platform to highlight the atrocities, calling on the global community to act.

Ambassador Waltz praised her involvement, noting she is “not only arguably the greatest female recording artist, but also a principled individual who refuses to remain silent in the face of injustice.”

Minaj expressed gratitude for the opportunity, emphasising that her influence carries a greater purpose.

“The Barbz & I will never stand down in the face of injustice. We’ve been given our influence by God. There must be a bigger purpose,” she said.

The UN event followed claims by former President Trump alleging a “Christian genocide” in Nigeria.

While the US designated Nigeria a “Country of Particular Concern,” the Nigerian government rejects allegations of religious persecution, attributing the country’s insecurity primarily to criminal activity.
