Mr P blasts Jude over fund mismanagement claims, reveals details of betrayal and court drama. The feud deepens as solo success reshapes the narrative
Mr P blasts Jude in a heated exchange that has reignited the longstanding feud between the estranged brothers and former P-Square collaborators.
In a recent outburst on social media, Peter Okoye, also known as Mr P, responded sharply to an Instagram post made by his elder brother and former manager, Jude Okoye.
The confrontation stems from an ongoing dispute involving the alleged misappropriation of \$1 million and £34,537. Jude is currently facing a four-count charge alongside his company, Northside Music Ltd, and has been standing trial since May. Mr P had testified against him during earlier proceedings.
Jude’s latest Instagram post claimed that certain artistes he supported became greedy and eventually abandoned his platform. He stated that those individuals were now broke but continued to blame him for their financial difficulties.
Though he did not mention names, the insinuations were clear enough to provoke a direct response from Mr P.
“Calling me broke or wishing I was broke has been your wish,” Mr P posted on Facebook. “These are the exact words you told the EFCC officials. And you ended up getting locked up in prison. Of course, you must develop another narrative: you were shouldering who?”
Mr P went on to assert that Jude had only ever been a hired manager and was dismissed like others before him. He said his solo music career has proved far more lucrative than the days of splitting earnings three ways in P-Square.
“I am talking about both shows and endorsements. It really makes me question what’s the point of sharing with people who stole from you, betrayed you, and still discriminate against your efforts?”
He insisted that his solo success had not only brought financial gain but also peace of mind. According to him, attempts at maintaining maturity in the past were often met with disrespect, prompting a change in approach.
“Respect me, I respect you! Ignore me, I ignore you! Cross me, and I cut you off, simple. Life isn’t about begging people for fair treatment! It’s about matching energy; it is what it is.”
The feud between the brothers has been public since the group’s official split in 2017. Although they reconciled in 2021, tensions appear to have returned, fuelled by ongoing court proceedings and mutual accusations of betrayal.
Rudeboy, the other half of the defunct P-Square, previously confirmed the group’s disbandment in a City FM interview. He also alleged that Mr P had petitioned the EFCC to investigate Jude over suspicious financial activities and misuse of group funds.
Since then, Jude Okoye has appeared in court, leading to his temporary detention. However, he was granted bail worth ₦50 million by the Special Offences Court in Ikeja.
While legal proceedings continue, the brothers remain at odds both in court and online. Fans of the once-iconic music duo are once again left witnessing their public disagreements play out on social media, with no resolution in sight.
