Nollywood actor Lateef Adedimeji has reacted strongly to the abduction of children in Oyo State, describing the incident as a painful reminder of Nigeria’s worsening security situation.

Lateef Adedimeji shared his concerns on social media, noting that while many families marked Children’s Day, others were plunged into anguish over the kidnapping of their children.

The actor said the reality of missing children reflects a national crisis that should not be ignored, especially by those in authority.

“Before you sleep tonight, remember many families celebrated Children’s Day in pain, because their children are held up by kidnappers in places no one knows,” he wrote.

He added that as a father, the situation deeply affects him and questioned the commitment of authorities to their promises on security and child protection.

Lateef Adedimeji called on government officials to act decisively to ensure the safe return of the abducted children, stressing that doing so would be an honourable course of action.

“You know what to do. Do it and get the kids back home. It’s the only honourable thing to do,” he said.

The incident has sparked widespread reactions across social media, with several Nigerian celebrities also expressing outrage and sadness over the reported abduction of children in Oyo State during the Children’s Day period.

Public figures including Ruth Kadiri, Toyin Abraham, Bobrisky, Patience Ozokwo and others have used their platforms to call for urgent action from security agencies and government authorities.
