Lagos Announces Osborne Road Traffic Diversion Aug 15–17

Lagos State will divert traffic along Osborne Road, Ikoyi, from August 15–17 for drainage works. Motorists advised to follow alternative routes as LASTMA manages traffic flow

The Lagos State Government has announced a temporary traffic diversion along Osborne Road in Ikoyi, Eti-Osa LGA, from Friday, August 15 to Sunday, August 17, 2025.

The diversion will enable drainage connection works from Modupe Alakija Crescent to the underground system along the Osborne Road median.

Traffic Management Plan

According to Commissioner for Transportation, Mr. Oluwaseun Osiyemi, the diversion is necessary for the construction of a cross culvert, which involves cutting a section of Osborne Road near Foreshore Towers.

Key details include:

  • Start Time: 10:00 PM, Friday, August 15
  • End Time: Midnight, Sunday, August 17
  • Full Reopening: Monday, August 18

A counterflow arrangement will be introduced for vehicles along Osborne/Alfred Rewane Road, covering around 100 metres from Modupe Alakija Crescent to Alfred Rewane junction.

Motorist Instructions:

  • Inbound Osborne Road (from Alfred Rewane): Use contraflow lane before returning to the normal lane.
  • Outbound Osborne Road (towards Alfred Rewane): Restricted to one lane to accommodate the contraflow.

Alternative Routes:

  • From Osborne to Alfred Rewane: Use Oba Adeyemi Oyekan Avenue → Glover Road, Lugard Avenue, or Cameron Road
  • From Alfred Rewane to Osborne: Use Glover Road, Lugard Avenue, or Cameron Road → Oba Adeyemi Oyekan Avenue

LASTMA officers will be on-site to manage traffic and minimise disruption.
