Kehinde Adegbodu Fire Accident: Nigerian singer explains injuries to his face and hand, dismissing rumours of a spiritual attack
Nigerian Gospel singer Kehinde Adegbodu has addressed growing public concern over visible injuries on his face and hand, revealing that the wounds were sustained in a fire accident at his family residence in Ibadan, Oyo State.
The singer made the clarification in a video shared on the Adegbodu Twins’ fan page on Wednesday, June 25, 2026, after speculation emerged online suggesting that he may have been the victim of a spiritual attack.
Speaking directly to fans and supporters, Kehinde Adegbodu explained that the incident occurred about a week ago and stressed that he is recovering well despite the frightening experience.
The musician said the injuries affected parts of his face, lips and left hand, but noted that the wounds were already healing and were not as severe as some reports had suggested.
“I’m making this video to address the incident that happened about a week ago. This is to clarify that I’m medically okay. There’s nothing wrong with me, I’m very okay. But I had a fire accident at home,” he said.
Kehinde Adegbodu added that he deliberately chose not to publicise the incident immediately because it was a deeply personal experience rather than a moment for public attention.
“I didn’t post it online because it’s not a thing of celebration. Just that people got to see the injury on my body during a public appearance, and it’s already healing,” he explained.
The singer also firmly dismissed claims that his condition was linked to any spiritual battle, a rumour that had circulated following recent public appearances.
“Although it’s not that terrible, it affected my left hand, my lips and my face. So, that is all. It was rumoured that I was attacked spiritually. Please, I’m not battling any form of spiritual attacks. It is just a fire accident,” he stated.
Despite reassuring fans about his health, Kehinde Adegbodu appealed for prayers as he continues his recovery.
“All I need from you is prayer. May God help me to overcome every seen and unseen spiritual battle,” he said.
The heartfelt message has drawn an outpouring of support from fans, many of whom expressed relief after learning the true cause of his injuries.
The incident also highlights the speed at which speculation can spread online, particularly when public figures appear with unexplained injuries.
Kehinde Adegbodu, known alongside his twin brother for their contributions to Nigeria’s music scene, remains optimistic as he recovers from the painful ordeal and prepares to return fully to his regular activities.
