Hilda Baci announces world record jollof rice attempt, planning to cook 250 bags in a 22,619-litre custom pot

Hilda Baci world record jollof rice challenge is officially in the works, as the former Guinness World Record title holder has revealed plans for another historic cooking feat.

Taking to Instagram on Monday, the celebrated Nigerian chef announced that she will attempt to set a new Guinness World Record by cooking 250 bags of rice in what she described as the world’s biggest jollof pot.

According to Baci, the custom-made pot has a staggering capacity of 22,619 litres, measuring six meters wide, 1.1 meters tall, and about 1.3 meters deep.

“I’m making the executive decision to cook 250 bags of basmati rice. I’m sure the pot is not going to sink,” she said, adding a playful touch to her bold declaration.

This record attempt comes two years after Hilda Baci shot to global fame for breaking the Guinness World Record for the longest cooking marathon by an individual an achievement that cemented her place as one of Nigeria’s most inspirational culinary figures.
