Falz Admits Struggles With Love, Family, and Career
Falz admits he struggles to balance love, family, and fame, saying he avoids commitment out of caution and fear of messing up
Falz, the Nigerian rapper and actor whose full name is Folarin Falana, has opened up about his personal struggles in balancing a love life, family expectations, and a demanding entertainment career.

In a candid conversation with Chude Jideonwo, Falz revealed that finding someone who truly cares for him — beyond the glitz and public recognition — remains one of his toughest challenges.
“I’ve not found anybody who likes me. In all sincerity, it’s incredibly tough,” Falz said. “To have a healthy love and family life while being in entertainment is incredibly tough. Not knowing how to navigate that… has resulted in me just sort of staying away.”
The rapper, who is also known for his activism and wit, acknowledged that his avoidance of romantic commitment is partially rooted in fear — a fear of failure and of hurting others.
“Some people will say he’s running away from commitment. Yes. Is it? To an extent, I wouldn’t lie — yes,” he added.
Falz emphasized the importance of self-awareness, noting that pretending to be ready for love when one is not could be damaging.
He admitted to being extremely cautious, perhaps too much so, but insisted it’s better than diving into a relationship he isn’t emotionally prepared to handle.
“It’s one thing to know you are not prepared. It’s another to deceive yourself and mess things up for both parties. So, it’s me just being cautious. Too cautious, maybe. Possibly.”
