BBNaija’s Gerard reveals his Nollywood ambition, saying he wants to become a respected actor before moving into directing and filmmaking

Evicted Big Brother Naija Season 11 housemate Gerard has revealed his Nollywood ambition, saying on Wednesday, September 9, 2026, that he intends to build a career as an actor before eventually moving into directing and filmmaking.

Speaking in an interview with P.M.NEWS after his eviction, Gerard said acting remains his immediate priority as he looks to turn his reality television exposure into opportunities in the Nigerian film industry.

The 23-year-old said he wants audiences and industry professionals to recognise him for his acting ability rather than simply for his time on the reality show.

“I want somebody to find myself as a very good actor in the industry, one of the best, I believe. I just need the opportunities and the chance to show that,” Gerard said.

“For now, I want to make my mark as an actor. I’m good at other things, but my main focus now is the screen, for sure. Eventually, start to direct and create my own movies.”

Gerard’s ambition reflects a familiar path for reality television personalities who seek to use the visibility gained from BBNaija as a springboard into Nigeria’s entertainment industry.

For Gerard, however, the immediate goal is clear. He wants to prove his ability on screen before expanding into other aspects of filmmaking.

The former housemate also addressed discussions about his appearance and age, saying viewers frequently assume that he is older than his actual age because of his appearance and demeanour.

“I’m actually 23. I don’t know why that’s so hard to believe. I don’t know what you guys were seeing on the outside,” he said, adding that he has his birth certificate to support his claim.

Gerard also reflected on his relationship with fellow housemate Kamsy, acknowledging that their connection developed within the unusual environment of the Big Brother house.

He described Kamsy as an “awesome person” but noted that their relationship could take on a different dynamic outside the reality show.

“Everything that happens in the Big Brother house is happening because we’re in the Big Brother house. The outside world is the outside world. It’s a different dynamic entirely once we’re back outside,” he said.

Despite the uncertainty surrounding life after BBNaija, Gerard appears focused on building a lasting identity beyond reality television.

His immediate plan is to establish himself as an actor, with directing and producing his own films forming part of a longer-term vision.

As Gerard begins the next chapter of his career, the former housemate will now look to convert his growing public profile into meaningful opportunities in Nollywood and prove that his ambitions extend well beyond the BBNaija house.
