Frank Edoho denies personal life affected career, clarifying reasons behind his departure from Who Wants To Be A Millionaire

Television host Frank Edoho has publicly refuted claims that his personal life influenced his professional career in Nigeria.

The Abuja-based media personality addressed the matter on X (formerly Twitter) on Thursday following comments from a user suggesting marital issues were behind his departure from Who Wants To Be A Millionaire.

The controversy arose when a user, Foundational Nupe Lawyer (@egi_nupe___), criticised Edoho for appearing in adverts for Bet9ja instead of hosting the quiz show that initially brought him fame.

The user commented: “Sponsors pulled out because I had marital issues?” implying that personal matters had derailed his career.

Responding with characteristic candour, Edoho dismissed the claims.

“Sponsors pulled out because I had marital issues? Since we are being stupid, why didn’t your father pull out when you were conceived? After all, he didn’t really like your mother. Tw@t,” he wrote, drawing attention to the unfairness of linking personal matters to professional decisions.

Reports indicate that Edoho parted ways with the show over contractual disagreements rather than personal circumstances.

Since leaving, he has returned for later editions and explored other media projects, including presenting and producing content across multiple platforms.

Edoho first gained prominence as the host of Who Wants To Be A Millionaire in Nigeria and remains a respected figure in broadcasting.
