Nigerian disc jockey Florence Otedola, popularly known as DJ Cuppy, has stated that she does not see herself marrying a Nigerian man, citing her past relationship experiences.

She made the comment during a recent podcast appearance on Monday, June 15, 2026, where she reflected on her dating history and personal expectations in relationships.

DJ Cuppy explained that her last relationship influenced her perspective, alleging that her former partner appeared more interested in meeting her father than building a genuine connection with her.

The entertainer, daughter of businessman Femi Otedola, said she often felt that some partners were more drawn to her family background than to her as an individual.

“I can never marry a Nigerian. It’s impossible,” she said.

She added that her father does not interfere in her relationship choices and is mainly concerned about her settling down.

“My dad doesn’t even care who I marry; he just wants me to get married,” she said.

DJ Cuppy further expressed happiness for couples she admires, mentioning Temi Otedola and singer Mr Eazi as an example of a relationship she respects.
