Diddy Combs Begins 50-Month Prison Sentence

Diddy Combs has begun serving a 50-month prison term at FCI Fort Dix after his conviction on prostitution-related charges.

Diddy Combs has officially begun serving his 50-month prison sentence at the Federal Correctional Institution (FCI) Fort Dix, a low-security facility in New Jersey.

The 55-year-old music mogul, whose full name is Sean “Diddy” Combs, was convicted in July 2025 on two counts of transportation to engage in prostitution. He was transferred early on Thursday, October 30, from the Metropolitan Detention Center (MDC) in Brooklyn, where he had been held since his arrest in September 2024.

According to People Magazine, the transfer followed a near-death scare in which an inmate allegedly broke into Diddy’s cell and held a knife to his throat. A close associate, Charlucci Finney, told the Daily Mail* that the incident appeared to be “a warning” rather than an attempt on his life.

Following the altercation, Diddy’s legal team urgently requested his transfer, citing safety concerns and the harsh conditions at MDC Brooklyn. They proposed Fort Dix due to its rehabilitation programmes, family access, and lower security risks.

The U.S. Bureau of Prisons confirmed that Diddy’s 13 months already served will count toward his total sentence, setting his projected release date for May 8, 2028. With good behaviour and participation in rehabilitation, he may be released earlier.

Fort Dix, situated within a U.S. military base, has previously housed public figures including Real Housewives of New Jersey star Joe Giudice. The facility offers vocational classes and a commissary stocked with everyday comforts such as rice cakes, tuna, and Pop-Tarts.

Diddy’s legal team continues to appeal his conviction, while reports confirm that President Donald Trump has received a request for a presidential pardon, though no decision has been made.
